Sachs vs FTE clutch slave cylinder - Sachs doesn’t feel so good?

Finishing my clutch job and went to bleed my slave - I sense a distinct change in my pedal feel. Much softer at the top (as soon as you put your foot on), maybe a little harder at the end. Works just fine, good clutch disengagement, but feels odd/different. Anyone else experience this? Is odd enough that I’m thinking of exchanging the part for FTE (who I believe is the OE manufacturer). Also don’t know if the Sachs is also slave that is used with non-Ms. Thanks.

The fact that the FTE is 95 dollars and the Sachs is 20 something makes me wonder.

Interesting BW lists a different parts number than FCP (they say all are interchangeable).

FTE is OE for this part.

Are you using a Motive power bleeder?

I installed an FTE literally last week. Feels great. As stated, it is the OE, and if you notice, FCP also lists the FTE as made in Germany and the Sachs in China.

That page is also why I don't use Bimmerworld. Many times they don't list the actual manufacturer: "made by FTE or Sachs." Even though the picture is FTE, at $50 I guarantee they just send out a Sachs that is also overpriced compared to FCP.

FTE for the win. Both my m3 and non-m car felt great with it and no issues of any sort. Seems like you get what you pay for…

FTE and Sachs are not made of the same material, and the rods are different lengths too. I had issues with two Sachs units before I said fuck this and went to OE ($150 at the time). As stated above FTE is OEM, so paying 1/4 of the price of OE might be a good idea.

Wow, that's dirty. I'm sure they do too.

Got the FTE in, feels better … would not go with Sachs.
