    Hard to say, 5kg seems really light but I think could be stiff enough. Autoclaving does improve the mechanical properties. I'd be more worried about an impact. Once it cracks then you're replacing the whole side of the car. Especially if a core material is used - can't really repair that.

    I was thinking about making a carbon panel from the back edge of the door jamb to the taillight but its removing weight in the wrong spots for me.
