    H&R springs or Eibach springs?

I am currently running Eibach coilovers and ride height is about 13.75 front and 13.5" rear. With the mason X brace and front strut brace the ride is just too stiff and bouncy for street use and car does not feel anywhere near as planted as my Z4M on B12 pro kit. I absolutely love how the Z4M rides. Currently the E46 is just not confidence inspiring. So I was thinking to go with Koni yellow and either Eibach or H&R springs for my E46. I know the Eibach are really popular but seems like H&R sit a little lower and have a more even drop. Does anyone have experience with the H&R and would be able to comment on ride quality? I don't want to end up with a harsh bouncy ride all over again. Need some help choosing between the two springs. I am afraid the eibach will leave too much of a wheel gap otherwise I would pull the trigger on them.

I have the Eibach springs on my Koni Yellow and they are really good. Maybe some Swift springs so you can get the right spring rates and spring lengths?

I briefly drove a friend's car with eibach/koni setup on a poorly paved, bumpy road. The ride seemed to be more forgiving versus coilovers on that same road.

        Spring hierarchy

        Eibach
        Dinan
        Vogtland

        H&R
        Tein

That said, before you go back to a stock like setup, you could get lower spring rates for your coilovers. Do you know what you have now?

Your ride height is good no issue there imo.

I have the springs that were shipped with the eibach coilovers. I don’t know what the rates are. Who makes replacement springs for them with a softer rate ?

You can order the coilover springs straight from Eibach. I've experimented.

But you can also get 2.5" (63.5-65mm) springs from many other brands like hypercoil, swift, h&r, vogtland, et al. I dont quite remember, but I thought eibach coilover kit came with something like 500/600 which is too much up front imo. Try a 350lb. 600 rear is perfect for street car.

I have H&R coils but dit not like their stiffness, I went Swift since it has pretty much any rate you want. I went with 225 front, 600 rear. But my plan is to lower the rear to 500. For rears I chose TCK.

Could just go stock springs. Better in all ways in my opinion, unless you have that wheel gap fetish which I never understood.

I had Eibach springs and Bilstein B8 (I think) shocks, it was really nice for around town use. IMO it was the perfect OEM+ ride height and comfort vs sportiness balance. But it’s definitely a far cry from a more aggressive coilover. So just be aware of what you’re trading off and make sure that’s what you want.

Out of curiosity, why is dinan lower on the list than eibach?

I would think the more minimal drop of the dinan would result in better ride quality and performance when using stock height shocks / struts (either oem or aftermarket)?

But people want a drop. Eibach gives you both. If drop isn't important, than stick with stock suspension which has maximum travel. Everything's a compromise of some sort. How much is the question.
