    SES LIGHT…Thousands spent and it’s still on

    I recently brought out my 02 LSB which I’ve owned since 2003 and put a ton of money into getting it back street worthy. One obstacle has been that it needs to be smogged and unfortunately can’t be registered until then. In CA smog is a pain in the azz. I had a shop do inspection 2 and some other work and told them my main concern was passing smog, because everything from there I can do at my own pace because the vehicle can be registered. However, even after their work I was getting p0430 and p0320 I believe. I took it back and they replaced the o2 sensors for another 1600 and told me to drive it until monitors ready. I have catless headers and euro cats in section 1. I did the drive cycle and was able to get the monitors back on and now it only throws p0430 but still has the SES. I’m frustrated but also wanted to know if there’s the possibility that by putting more miles on the vehicle the SES light will go out on its own after a number of cold starts? I’m in Southern California and luckily I make good money but I want this resolved ASAP as there are other things I want to do to the vehicle. Any help would be appreciated

      I had P0430/20 codes which are both cat failures. You might try a bottle of Cataclean as a band-aid to get the car to run through smog but it didn't "fix" it for me. I ended up in a SS group buy with HJS cats as the fix.

          Are you sure P0320 and not 420?

          You can't just keep driving to get the monitors ready if the CATs are bad or no CATs.

          Get a log file (using OBDFusion or similar app) with post CAT sensors: with hot engine the sensor signals should be above 0.5v and mostly constant. If they are below .05v or switching hi/low then the codes will never be cleared.

              i do have the euro cats in section 1 , just not in the headers like us spec
