    Multiple codes…need help troubleshooting!

I was driving back home with the family (04 e46 6sp) and got the service engine soon light and car felt like it was misfiring. Not sure if it was a misfire or limp mode as I’ve never really experienced limp mode on this car before. It felt like a very steady misfire (same cylinder, didn’t feel random) car bogged down hard when trying to pick up speed/accelerate). When I got home I turned the car off and restarted it and it felt like it was still misfiring.

hooked it up to bmw scanner (see picture for codes) and sure enough it’s shows a cycl 3 misfire with cylinder cutout. It also shows electronics box fan error and oxygen sensor before cat 2: period.

the signal, engine temp implausible is something that has come and gone for the past few weeks.

will play around with inpa in the morning trying to actuate box fan, check o2 voltage values and check fuses etc. will also try to start the car again in the morning when cold to see if missfire still present.

looks like I got a few things going on, how do you guys recommend going about it.

Could the cylinder 3 cutout be limp mode due to box fan failure?

I don’t think 02 sensor is an issue as it would have cause multiple cylinder misfires in same bank, not a single cylinder

Or Am I simply dealing with just a cylinder misfire (coil pack, injector issues etc) and the other errors are unrelated ?

I had a similar issue last year turned out it was 1 bad coil pack. Swapped with another coil and the miss fire followed the bad coil.
How many miles on the current spark plugs?
I ended up just getting all new coils and spark plugs, as i didn't know the current mileage on the spark plugs.

I also had e-box error codes, ended up replacing later as i got tired of that code popping up.

I got about 50k on these plugs and about 100k on the car. That’s a very good suggestion. Will try to swap coils and see if the missfire follows the bad coil! Thanks!
