    Gauge cluster

So when driving today, my RPM gauge stopped working then work and stopped again, and my temperature gauge is at the max, also my traction light , brake light and tire pressure light is on also, anyone had this problem before? I got some codes , cleared it, now my car won't start. It cranks then shuts off.

Bad CANbus from DME to Cluster I think.

I'm going to change the RF,LF wheel speed sensor and see if that solves the problem. This morning started car, same thing happen with the gauges, for about 2 seconds then went back to normal.

I don't think the wheel speed sensors are causing the no start. Can you read live values from the DME with the Schwaben scan tool? I'm thinking DME, or maybe the cluster or body harness between the 2.

I have turned the ignition on with the DME removed and noticed the same thing with the coolant gauge being pegged.

            Check the crank position sensor?

It's only when I cleared the codes it didn't start , after that it starts up fine now. . Will see later on when I have to start it again , what will happen.

So today I went to start the car it wouldn't start first crank, switch to off ,then to start again and it fired up. Shut it off and try to start again , same problem, until I cranked again the second time and it started. Drives fine after that, no check engine light.

Temp gauge at max, dead tacho, various warning lights and CAN.bus errors. Been there, started with short periods of those errors and ended up with constant errors.
Solution, replace two faulty electrolyte capacitors on the instrument cluster board. It was done by a professional auto electronics shop.

I've been looking for this solution for ages without actually going forth and pulling my cluster with no leads. Thank you!
