Is there a specific tint you recommend?

Apparently, there is a window tint film specific to plastic. Did not know that. At least that is what the internets is saying...

You cannot use standard glass window tint on polycarbonate, as the plastic expands and off-gasses, causing standard film to bubble and peel. Instead, apply a specialized "blister-free" base film (such as Madico Blister-Free), use specialty plastic films (like Johnson PlexShade), or purchase factory-tinted polycarbonate

We made them identical to the original windows, so you can use them just like standard glass—raising and lowering them as usual.
Upon request, we can apply a hard coating to them, so they won't scratch easily.

On my CSL trunk, I run only one of the two struts for just that reason.

I use these as splitter rods but these should work. Just swap the ends over...they screw off. I would maybe try a 5# shock if you can find one?

Have the windows been tested at speed? Lexan is not nearly as stiff as glass and it could be horribly annoying for street driving. And are the windows coated? Lexan will haze up over time due to scratching. Especially putting it up and down and having dust and dirt along the window seal.

My car has these types of windows, and I haven't had any problems at speed.

Yes, they're less rigid than glass and easier to scratch, but their purpose is completely different. In this case, we're talking about weight and strength. Each type of glass has its pros and cons, and everyone chooses what's most important to them.

Very curious to see the weight difference for that! It might even need weaker hatch shocks.

The weight difference was this.
Original rear hatch 12.5kg
Carbon Fiber rear hatch 2.5kg

If the glass isn't standard but Lexan, then I think you'll need weaker shock absorbers.
