I switched out my engine mounts this past Sunday in my garage on jack stands for the first time. Car is 2006, I got it a little over a month ago and has close to 120K on it. I don't think they've ever been changed based on the way they look, see pic. I've done them before in my father in laws shop on a lift, this was a while ago though on my 2004. Watched a few videos on how to do it to refresh my memory and almost every single one said the passenger side is more difficult until I watched the FCP Euro DIY.
All you gotta do on the passenger side is support the engine on the AC bracket, maybe lift it slightly with a jack, then unscrew the VANOS accumulator bracket, push the accumulator to the side, unscrew 4 engine mount bracket bolts, and voila you have tons of room to install the new mount. No extra lifting/pivoting the engine. It was a breeze with that FCP Euro tip.
For me the driver side was tougher from the standpoint I had to keep jacking the engine at the oil pan until there was enough clearance to slide the new one in. I had to be very careful as I began hearing squeaking as I was jacking the engine up. Eventually the mount slid in.
Hope this helps someone, I was dreading doing it before noticing the bracket removal tip.
