Accidentally Down-shift Into 1st

The other night when I approached the intersection and the light turning yellow, going about 48mph. Saw a car on opposite lane waiting to make left turn, I quickly flashing the hi-beam multiple times using the left lever, then I heard the engine rev up very high, realized what happened I quickly clicking the upshift pedal multiple times before the wheels skidding. I think I made it before the SMG releasing the clutch in 1st. Don't remember I was in 4th or 5th.

Did anyone have this happen before with SMG?

Yes same thing with me and the high beams lol I accidentally pulled back in the paddle and down shifted and luckily I caught it and threw it into neutral. Stupid muscle memory

I have also done the same thing while making a left-handed turn: I heard it rev up and quickly put it into neutral, lol.

I was lucky that the rookie didn't turn on yellow as I had no torque in 1st to escape the situation. Scary moment. I had dodged accident before when someone made the left turn on yellow in front of coming car. Riding motorcycle taught me defensive driving.
