Plus M539 Restorations has essentially shamed all other BMW centric youtube automotive channels. That isn't to say he is perfect, but I can't think of anyone else providing the same level of content on a regular schedule. His builds are incredibly well done. My only complaint? He doesn't seem to have much love for the S54. His wheelhouse with respect to preference seems to be BMW V8s, V10s, and V12s.

How to write off your bmw modifications sponsored by Turner/ECS. Seems like a smart move to me.

Check out their harbor freight video, basically another way to write off 15k worth of tools as a business expense.

The CSL bit is just for click bait so they can put "I saved $100k!" with the YouTube face in the thumbnail. Unfortunately it's just what you have to do on YouTube these days, wouldn't take it literally.

I watched his videos and thought the same. Even when he was talking about the Turner sway bar thickness. I thought about the the post on this forum about suspension and geometry. But everyone has their taste and budget. Can't hate the guy for it. The videos are entertaining tho!

I like sreten he's a good guy, was awesome when he was active on the ZHP Mafia forums with his E39 m5 build back before he got famous

The only thing that annoys me about him is that he shakes his head at anything that isn't 3 pedal and thinks that anything he does is the Platinum standard..he has a bit of an elitist attitude. He is an amazing person and mechanic with a great work ethic but some of his choices just scream he asked for it lol

I just wish he wasn't so close minded to anything but 3 pedal..SMG II in the E46 and III in the e60 had their place and were the stepping stones into DCT and even the 8hp torque converter tech of today.

I think it also has to do with price, these cars aren’t cheap in Europe.. and there isn’t a big price delta for i.e. a high milage SMG vert which would go for sub 10k in the US, would still be 25k in Europe.

The few times a cheap M3 comes up for sale here it’s a salvage title car that has been repaired with bondo by eastern europeans and I don’t think that really matches his vibe.

Elitist.....as he became famous it was fun to see his attitude and how it changed...he started becoming more and more, how shall i say....arrogant......I don't know if others have felt/seen this but I have. Then again its my job that enables me to see what others don't. And with the amount of money he is making he should really hire an editor and stop pumping out videos once a month only (two if people are lucky and don't forget if its more than two a month its from a few weeks months ago).

I don't watch his videos much or at all as its starting to get boring for me now especially after the E9X S65 engine build (Which was very informative).

As far the S54, he really should have stopped fucking around and wasting sponsor funds on the E46 wagon and dropped in an S54 in it by now and FI it. Simple. yes yes its the same as others but it works. He is already half way there.....

He's pretty obsessed with OEM+ so I would think that aligns with the sentiment here that could be similarly construed as “elitist”.

Plus the E46 wagon is his first track build as a neophyte to performance driving, so an M54 with a supercharged powerband isn't that nonsensical.
