New BMW M1 Was ’95 Percent Ready’ But BMW Axed It for XM Instead

    What a shame...

Nicknamed the i16, it would've offered around 200 horsepower more than the i8 through a four-cylinder engine and hybrid drive.

A successor to the i8? Sounds like a terrible idea

Call me crazy but I actually like the XM. I know it hasn't been a sales success but the fast SUV is one of the few things BMW has done well the past 10 years. Who would have thought Americans wouldn't go for an overpriced V8 hybrid with 600-700 hp. Maybe if they made it a bit handsomer and $50k cheaper

IDK who would buy the XM over the X5M.

Unless you want to feel like you're saving the environment, but even then there's far better choices.

LOL yeah, XM probably has one of the worse carbon footprints of anything on sale
