S54 piston speed vs. the world

Did you know the S54 at redline has a higher piston speed than the 997 GT3 RS at 9000?

Don't know how accurate this list is, but I found the highest piston speeds for production cars at redline:

1. Audi R8 (5.2L V10): 26.9 m/s at 8700 rpm
2. Honda S2000 (F20C engine): 25.2 m/s at 9000 rpm
3. Lamborghini Gallardo: 24.7 m/s at 8000 rpm
4. BMW M3 (S54 engine): 24.2 m/s at 8000 rpm
5. Acura Integra Type R (B18C5 engine): 24.4 m/s at 8400 rpm
6. Honda S2000 2004 (F22C engine): 24.1 m/s at 8000 rpm

I always knew the S2000 speeds were record breaking from back in the day. Didn't realize S54 would rank so high after 20+ years.

Did you mean the 991 911 gt rs?

The 997 gt3 rs did not redline at 9000rpm, it was 8500rpm.

Can't bore out the straight 6 much at all.

25.7 m/s at red line. So the second highest. Still cool that the S54 is top 5 after 20+ years.
