Either the cam rocker noise, or the rod knocking.

Assuming it's not rid knock, as I got the bearing donee 5k miles ago, how can I check the cam rockers?

Also, i have DLC Shrick rockers with Shrick 288/280 cams. Is there some kind of warranty?

use a mechanic stethascope or very long screwdriver and poke around to see where its coming from.

Do a cold start video, without revving, probably a worn rocker arm.

              Hi,

When did the ticking begin ?

              Hopefully not this one...

Installed another engine, as I spun a rod on my old one. I swapped over my 288/280 cams and followers and this noise has been there upon first start up.

How did you check the rockers? What did you look for? Does Shrick have a warranty for this?

Remove valve cover and check valve clearance on all of them.

Someone needs to make these rockers, they would sell for sure if they were well made. I need to check mine, but wouldn't doubt I've got one getting flat.

Mine had a similar tick, needed a few shims on the exhaust side. I checked all rockers and were perfect, but my car is fairly low miles.

Did you have to take out the cams to check them all?

I'm going to check the clearances over the weekend, but do you know if Schrick has a warranty on their rockers?

I don't know much about that, in fact I would like to know if these are OEM rockers that are DLC coated or if Shrick actually manufactures these.

If there are no companies that make rockers now or in the future that would be a shame as it would seem the supply is running thin and will be gone soon

In regards to warranty, if they do have one there could be some room for interpretation on their end as someone could install the incorrect shim and wipe out a rocker and that's not their fault.

I need to check my valves clearances again just for piece of mind, mine has the generic ticking sound and a little something else.

Yours does sound a bit different, something going on there, the good news is you can likely just replace a rocker(s) if thats the issue, change oil for good measure and be done.

No, when checking the valve lash, I spent a couple of minutes checking each rocker, mainly by feel and under different light angles, you can slide the rockers to the side and can inspect them. only the exhaust side needed a bit thicker shims (0.02mm). I tried as much as I could to stay mid point of the spec, or toward the tighter side of it.
