    New to me M3

    Hello all, just wanted to share a new to me purchase, glad to be back on a forum. picked this up in New Jersey from Mpartswordwide. seems they part out quite a bit of cars but sell the ones worth saving.
    158k, rod bearings were done at 30k however i have them on order to do again, literally just got the top working today. currently smg. Click image for larger version

    if anyone has done a manual swap and has the old chrome smg trim ring i would take it off your hands.

      Don't jump in and start rebuilding the vanos with new piston seals and anti-rattle stuffs. I would remove vanos, the hubs, then remove the 12 bolts holding the cam sleeves, clean the threads real good, add medium Loctite on bolt threads and torque to spec.
      The next one is to redrill the vanos disk with 2 smaller driven holes to avoid breaking the EX hub driving tabs.

            preferably, just the manual swap/rod bearings and maintenance for now. eventually maybe suspension and brakes. currently trying to issue proof all of the known problems with the top stuff.

                    top is complete not on to an oil leak i believe is the cpv.
