    Rogue oil cooler

Rogue engineering oil cooler is substantially bigger! AC compressor has to be modified for it to sit in the stock location so I'm removing that to hopefully get it modified. Hopefully high oil temps at the track will be a thing of the pastClick image for larger version

    Curious... why?

What are your temps on track?
What sort of ambient temps do you see while out on track?
    Last oil lines service?

My two cents, if you track, that beheemoth is overkill. That looks like 4x the size of OEM, at least now you have all that new weight right in front of the front tires down low? Yah, if you're after performance this one puzzles me. Hopefully it at least remedies your temperature issues.

As far as I can tell, everything from rogue (and almost everyone else) is outta Chyna.

Rogue makes the smaller parts in house. But I thought this was made by CSF?

On a side note, anyone running one of these?

Because of oil temps climbing to 3/4 of the temp Guage AND because of fuel dilution in my oil. So it's wanting more oil cooling and more oil capacity to fight temps and dilution.

3/4 is just where oil temps on the S54 end up, and it's fine.

I've tried a couple of aftermarket oil coolers now, and they all end up back at 3/4-- or worse. None of them out performed stock.

                  Back to stock now.

But have you tried this one? Because if not then you don't know this will end up at 3/4 right? Either way having the possibility of cooler temps AND more oil capacity for tracking won't be a bad thing

                      No.

... but history has taught me that Rouge's products tend to perform... worse than average (or, sometimes, stock). Can't think of another muffler made for this car that lost power other than theirs, for example.

If you add weight to the front of the car, and cooling isn't improved (even if cooling isn't downgraded, which is very much on the table), that's a downgrade. Much harder to take weight off the front of this car than the rear, and the is alllll the way out front.

So by your definition a splitter would be a downgrade? I mean it is added weight all the way out front...... Since I removed the washer fluid bottle that was completely full it will help negate some of the extra weight of the cooler
But comparing a muffler to an oil cooler is at BEST apples to oranges. Do rogue's weight jacks perform worse than average?

I wasn't comparing a muffler to an oil cooling-- just pointing out that the company has a documented history of selling aftermarket parts that perform worse than stock.

Weight out front (or anywhere, really, but especially out front) is a downgrade if you don't get a performance benefit in exchange. If, for example, the splitter in question didn't actually create any downforce, yes, it would be a downgrade. Similarly, if you put on a heavier oil cooler and don't get lower oil temps, yes, that is a downgrade.

I've certainly seen more of RE's weight jacks fail than any other companies, so in that way, yes. That said, if it wasn't clear, my argument was not that every single product they make performs worse. That's just silly. Particularly for parts that don't take any particularly advanced engineering/fabrication to produce, ala weight jacks.

                            You said these two things:

Rouge's products tend to perform... worse than average

I'd avoid RE's products in general, but particularly in areas that aren't idiot proof
