Is there an Illuminated Shift Knob Replacement Emblem anyone has used?

Untitled by Sam DaJam, on Flickr

So I was able to get the shift knob wired up after my manual swap, I had a pigtail from a M3 vert. As you can see my Shift Knob Emblem is very fucked up and ugly. The Leather on this knob is what I would consider useable and it doesn't fly off in my hand.

My eyes are still watering after checking the price for a new Shift Knob from BMW. It's a little under $500 right now.

I have zero interest in a ZHP knob, I am absolutely in love with the stock shifters height, weight and feel. I am keeping my eye out for a good used one, but I am doubtful.

Anyways if I could just replace the badge I'd be a happy camper.

Does anyone have recommendations on which onesthey have used? I could also probably nab it from a E92 M3 or E39 M5 knob used?

Also the LED in mine looks very red, which I am okay with is there a difference in the coloring would some be more orange/amber or are they all red?

You can also pull yours off and experiment with stripping and repainting it by hand. I did this some 25 years ago and it worked to convert a non-lighted insert to a lighted one.

Damn, I guess the stock illuminated knob is getting harder to find? That's quite pricey, had no idea they were close to 5 Benjis.
