Early production front bumper cover mounting points

The early cars 2001 maybe some 2002 didn't have the kevlar mount for the front bumper cover it was aluminum and polymer..

Does anyone know the mounting points for these early production bumper covers?

Are the covers not the same just the actual support structure changed?

I'm not sure that they are. I have seen videos of the later cars with the kevlar bumper and they seem to have 4 distinct mounting clips in the front whereas the early cars have numerous small clips throughout the front of the bumper. plus 4 plug type clips above the grill.

There are attachment points molded into the back of the bumper. I think there are plastic rivets which attach the aluminum bar to the bumper. Then two large bolts run through the bar and two mountings at the end of the frame rail.

If I remember correctly, there are also screws in the fender well, the bottom side, and behind the corner lights.

The bumper covers are definitely not the same. Neither is the holding structure. I can definitely guarantee that, I have changed from the early aluminum bar to the kevlar version including a different bumper cover.

Correct. The bar holders are also specific to this version as the kevlar bar mounts directly to the chassis.

That's pretty interesting, what was involved in this conversion.
