    KW v3 rear spring perch

New guy here. 2004 MT w/62K miles.

Trying to replace leaking KW V3s with new set of KW V3s. Rear spring and adjustable perch seems crazy hard to remove. Have disconnected rear sway bar. Do I need to disconnect lower control are to get full suspension droop?

I managed to get one side out, can't imagine how I'm going to get the new one's in if the suspension won't droop any further.

Suspension: KW V3, Turner camber plates, UUC rear adjustable lower control arms, Dinan strut bars, and upgraded sway-bars (vendor unknown).

If stock bushings, which I'm assuming here, that inner uca bushing is torqued at ride height, so you could loosen that and spring would fall right out once lower shock bolt is removed

On KWs, the adjuster goes on top of the spring. When it is stuck on the control arm like that, it needs some persuasion to get it unstuck.

Release the hand brake if it is on to get more than full droop.

The leaking KW V3s that I'm replacing had the adjusters on the bottom of the spring.

Good tip on hand brake. Hopefully that does it.

Edit : yep, you're correct ... it goes at the top ... found a YT (below). I bought this car 6 years ago with this suspension. Would never known it, it has always handled amazing.

Here's a pic of the spring with the adjustable perch on the bottom, prior to my removal. And because the car handled so well I just assumed it was correct and thus the new one should be installed the same way. Goes to show always RTFM.

          Appreciate the help.
