Aftermarket side grills and OE M3 badges.

Checking to see if my OEM M3 badges work with my aftermarket side grills. It looks like the aftermarket badges use double-sided tape, where the OE badges have some type of pin mechanism and no tape. Before I pull off the aftermarket badges checking to see if the OE badges are compatible with my aftermarket side grills.

The emblem itself, both factory and aftermarket are like stickers. The piece with the pins is a seperate part that the emblem sticks to. Then they both pop into the side grill.

When you purchase a factory side emblem, I think you can buy it with the plate attached - I think that's how ECS/FCP have it, but I guess technically, if they're seperate part #s, you could order seperately.

Ok thanks - so I can just pop the old one off (with pins attached) as opposed to peel the sticker off?

Correct. I believe they just snap into place.

Thanks guys - you were right. Snap on and off. Have to be careful, bunch of thin pins. Helps to grab the old ones from the side with a tool and twist bottom side up.
