    INPA Help and Diagnostic

As I was leaving work yesterday, 3 yellow lights and alarm an alarm sounded. Brake, tire pressure, and the SMG cog. DSC would also not turn back off (I turned it off on start up to access S6 on the SMG). I pulled into my driveway and turned off the car to retrieve my laptop with INPA loaded on to it. After getting the laptop and hooking up to the car, the lights did not appear again. I log into INPA and search Chassis > MK60 > Read codes. There was not a single code fault. I went ahead and hit clear codes as well as clearing the codes in the Engine and Transmission section. Engine code was a code I have had since I've owned the car. Transmission was code 97 and code 152. Looking through Martyn's Error Codes post, code 97 is: internal index 244. Code 152 is: internal Communication Master.

After heading to work this morning, about 5 minutes of driving the lights pop back up. Car drives just as it ever does with zero issue. My question is, where should I start looking? Common issues seem to be wheel speed sensors but I feel like the SMG cog light throws a wrench in that. Am I right in thinking that? Are there any easy tests I can run in INPA that will point me in the right direction?

Look for CANbus issues. The bus connects Dash to DSC, Abs, smg, Dme

Ok, where should I start my search on that?

Check inpa error codes in those modules

Ok, new wrinkle to this. I am now getting a "IFH-0009: No response from control unit" error when I try to read the MK60. Just yesterday I could access that no problem. What could this possible mean?

            can you read the Dme?
Try to read the Steering angle sensor, if still fails then move the cable switch to the other end.

Nope, wouldn't read the steering angle sensor. And to make sure we are talking about the same thing, you mean using INPA then selecting chassis followed by steering angle sensor, correct?

Can you read the DME? If not then inpa setup in pc is not correct. If yes but it failed to read steering angle sensor, then slide the cable switch to other end.

Ok, making sure as well that the DME is what I am talking about. Last year I had to reset my steering angle sensor. To reset it I went through INPA. That is considered reading and editing the DME correct? I will post a screenshot later today to make it easier.

                    No.
DME is the engine computer module.
Steering angle sensor is a body (or chassis) module, and the DSC dodule is also belong to this group.
If the cable sw is set at the wrong position, then only DME can read but not the other module, and in this case, you need to slide the sw to the other end.

Ok. Now I’m getting it. I will check my cable tonight.
