    996 setup brake pads

So I installed my 996 setup today and when I put the rear pads in they apparently don't sweep the entire rotor. I bought hawk HB290G.583 which I thought would sweep the entire rotor but don't. I know there are two styles of pads that are available and I thought I bought the larger of the two. Any help would be appreciated Click image for larger version

This is a well established factor in 996 retrofit - did you read any of the diy threads?

To sweep the entire 328mm rear rotor, you use the front pads from a base (2.7 non turbo) cayman - they're slightly taller than the 986 turbo rear pads. BUT in order to fit these taller pads, you must use rallyroad brackets as they account for that extra material where CM (ecs sold) brackets do not so you're forced to use the smaller pads (at least on the inside).

Yes, in fact I read YOUR DIY and no where in there does it give a part number for hawk pads, at least that I saw. I did understand there were 2 different styles and in cross referencing apparently I got the wrong one. So thanks for the help without attitude
