    Pistol Storage E46

CCW carriers or 2A fans, do you have any good in-car storage solutions for the e46?

In my GX460 I use a console vault, which works great when I can't take my piece with me. However, I haven't found any good solutions for a lock-box/vault for the e46, hoping you guys may have a solution I have missed.

I would think glovebox is the only real option unless you want to run one of those deals that goes between seat console that you use a hand pump to fit it snuggly. Not sure there is enough space for the one I just mentioned and under the seat is stupid so glovebox or on your person I suppose.

A firearm left in the car is someone else's new toy.

yeah.... hope we can be mature about this. Only time will tell.

Glove box isn't what I'd consider secure. Also, not necessarily for leaving it in the car unattended, but a place to generally keep it safe and secure.

I was just hoping someone had a specific one that maybe fit under the seat, or if they just cable tied a vault into the trunk tie-down points.

I've just got a cable locked vault under my road trip vehicle driver seat for when I'm not in CA but simply looking at the space under my E46 seats, I can't fathom how to get one to fit underneath. My issue with having a lockbox in the trunk is if someone were to spot you stashing it, they might get alarmed or see dollar signs.

Just so I am clear if someone is a CCW person, that firearm should never ever ever be left unattended in any vehicle unless its in a "vault" of some type. I wouldn't want someone to leave that shit in the glovebox all the time.

I'd just carry it on your person of you really need a pistol in the M3 as the traditional vaults etc. aren't going to work well if at all.

Amen….gun on your Person is the only proper option I think. If you have to leave it…glovebox locks. But I mean we all know how easy it it to break them open.

It either stays on you, or you dont carry.

Probably exactly what the OP is looking for, but not a secure option. Driver's side storage box:

Correct. You can't leave it in the car unless it's in some sort of vault.

You also technically can't carry in any government buildings, schools, bars, etc. Which is why I asked.

Thanks for the insight guys. I plan to go with a vault wire tired to the hold downs in the trunk.

One could get creative and build something that could fit securely into the "spare" tire space.

Back when I was traveling to Texas and Oklahoma regularly I saw a few really creative and very secure solutions for both handguns and long guns, at the time I was working for a company that made Casino software and CCW was not permitted in the Casinos. I did hear a number of stories about how thieves would target the parking lots of the smaller casinos for that reason.

Up here in Canada, you could try poking bad guys in the eye with a stick—but only if Mother Nature herself dropped it from a tree and a squad of nerdy arborists declares it useless for grafting. Problem is, you’d probably get slapped with a human rights violation faster than you can say “maple syrup.” So, unless you’re itching to star in a courtroom drama, best to assume the position and hope it is over quick.

I think this is the only real option if you want it in reach while in the driver's seat.

heinzboehmer is currently working on making a retrofit for that compartment.

BMW Security made an MP5 holder. Replaces rear seat arm rest and ski sack. Flips down via solenoid and switch in dash for easy access to driver. I'd imagine it takes up a fair amount of trunk space, though.

                            There's your OE option :P

Now having one of these would me a major flex at the car meets. This puts the cellphone armrest to shame.
