I installed the Karbonius CSL airbox on my 2004 convertible over the weekend, and it went smoothly thanks to the wealth of info from forum threads on installation and parts—huge shoutout to the community!
The only hiccup was dropping the grommet for the Air Shut Off Valve hose, which fell onto the aluminum reinforcement plate. Retrieving it was a pain since I didn’t want to jack up the car at my condo to remove the plate. Also, the SMG pump made accessing the dipstick tube nut tricky, but a shallow 10mm socket, a knuckle, and some tape to hold the nut during reinstallation did the trick.
I’m running the Mullet Tune (thanks, Bry5on ), and I’m thrilled with the results. I even tested the tune with the stock airbox after installing the MAP and IAT sensors into my flashed DME. Big thanks to MpowerE36 for the CSL bootloader flash tool—flashing the MSS54HP via the OBD port was seamless and exactly what I needed.
I’ll share better pics once I add the MPower sticker.
