CSL Breather Mod for 2005 M3

Has anyone tried to detach the highlighted area? If so, how would you go about doing it? Will it come off if i just heat it up with a heat gun?

I have the CSL breather tube but want to attach it to US spec breather tube pictured below for a OEM look. Has anyone done this instead of using the silicone tubes?

I would use slight heat on the new tube and use a zip tie to temporarily seat it until it cools. Just take your time and keep moving the heat gun as to not melt anything and you should be just fine.

For removing the original wrap, do you just cut it off after heating it?

You should not need to cut it, just apply slow and even heat the rotate the hose while pulling and it will come off. Worst case you could cut it.
