But has this move in realoem historically had a direct correlation to parts availability in short order or is more of just saying these are old cars?

I am a parts hoarder and need to make a list if we are going to see a drop off in availability quickly.

This is a bmw move— not a realoem move.

On e39m, some parts got expensive. Some didn’t change. Worse on e39 than e46, because for lots of parts the BMW sticker part is the only option.

I’m not going to be selling the e46, but this was no small part of why we sold our e39.

So from the comments I take it the move to the classic definitely equates to less parts being made?

It's Classic as per RealOEM catalog. Doesn't mean BMW care about us like Porsche with their Classic program
