A-Pillar Trim - Airbag Curtain Cable

    Hello everyone,

While replacing the A-pillar trim on my CSL, I noticed that the blue and white airbag cable runs in front of the curtain airbag.

It’s clipped down but still looks odd and possibly unsafe.

Can anyone confirm if this is the correct factory routing on the E46 M3 CSL?
Or should the cable be behind the airbag or tucked elsewhere?

Photos or references from an untouched car would help a lot.

    Thank you,
    Alex

It’s the pinch sensor in the window/door frame gasket, supposed to be like that.

Thank you very much for your feedback.

I was looking online and found both versions.

I thought it wouldn't hurt running the cable from behind the curtain airbag.

      Cheers,
      Alex

I can verify this. I just removed my a-pillar and door frame gasket. What you have is correct.

            Hi everyone.

According to my mechanic, the cable should pass behind the airbag curtain.

It makes more sense imho and it is what I saw on most pictures online.

Thank you all for your precious advice.

              Hello everyone,

Now that I put the A-Pillar trim back into place, I am struggling to fit the door rubber seal properly.

I slightly took it off, just to install the trim.

Is it just too old or am I doing something wrong?

              Thank you again,
              Alex
