Renting from Turo while M3 is in the shop via insurance coverage?

Hi guys, I'm hoping one of you have had an experience where you could point me in the right direction in renting a replacement car while my car is in the shop on an insurance claim.

My M3 vert's been in the shop being worked on for a couple of months and the person who hit me's insurance is covering it (Wawanesa), and it totally blanked on me that they need to cover a rental car while my car is being worked on. Car will still be in the shop a couple more weeks and I actually really need a car right now, so better late than never I'm gonna get something. I called Wawanesa and although my adjuster's out for the weekend, the guy I spoke to told me that generally they will cover rental of a car similar to mine. I asked if they'll cover Turo and he said "should be fine". None of this is confirmed though, and because I would be renting today, I would be paying out of pocket and getting reimbursed.

The fact that they'll cover rental of "somethign similar" makes it sound like I can get a G82 M4 convertible, or a G80 M3 or something.

So my question is: has anyone else been in this situation and have anecdotes about whether or not (1) They will actually reimburse for a Turo rentl and (2) Whether or not when they say "something similar" they really mean modern equivalent of my car?

I won't take anything anyone says here as authority and I recognize that if I go Turo without explicit approval it is at my own risk. But I need a car to drive up to the Bay for work starting tomorrow, and it would be really, really nice to be able to get something I like as much as my M3.

    Thanks for any thoughts/experiences!

They should reimburse you at a daily rate

Yeah, I just wish I had any notion of what that rate was. I know that if I was paying for rental reimbursement coverage from Geico and using that, max would be $50 a day up to a $1500 maximum. But in this situation, if the other person's insurance is on the hook, I'm not sure if that level of limit applies? That's I guess what I'm trying to figure out via anyone else's experiences. When the guy said they'll cover something similar to my car as long as it's not a lambo that made it sound like as long as I can show them it's the same model (but modern day) it counts, but that could be a very gross misinterpretation lol.
