Performing Euro header install – suspect part leaking oil?

Can anyone help me diagnose what this part is? It’s on the passenger side, very rear of the cylinder head. It looks like it has an electrical harness, maybe an oil sensor of some sort. As you can see in the picture, it looks like it’s leaking oil. As a result, I want to know what it is, and your recommendation of whether I should change it, how hard it is to change, etc. I also have some oil residue on the third picture part (banjo fitting), but it may be oil from the first picture. Thanks.

Exhaust cam position sensor needs a new o-ring and the banjo bolt needs two new crush washers.

Once you replace those, clean the area and monitor for leaks. The valve cover gasket looks like it is also weeping. If you feel like removing the valve cover, you can thoroughly clean the surfaces and the gasket itself and reinstall it. Recently did this with a non-OE VCG gasket that has been on there for 10+ years and it is completely dry now, surprisingly.

Excellent thanks for the info - will these leak oil when I remove them or no?

Not unless the engine is on

I just replaced my sensor and fysa I recommend using a small flex head and bit set. It’s also super annoying getting the 5mm hex head in that screw because the angle has to be perfect.

Seems much easier with the headers off 🙂
