    Usable pump disc?

Started vanos service today and tab was broken off. Luckily managed to find it and fish it out before it fell too far. The pump disc is a little rough but it’s a tight fit with the new VAC hub I have. Should I send it or have it redrilled with 2 new stock size holes since I have the VAC hub designed for the stock holes? I’m thinking since there’s no play this is good to go.

You can use it. Just cosmetic.

I would like to point out that those little chunks of metal missing from the oil pump disc are floating around in your engine. I hope that doesn't keep you up at night.

        🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

J/k...but I know that would bother some people.

It was actually trapped against the disc. Caught it before it fell too far. But yeah if you mean the metal that was part of the disc, well, not much I can do. I’ve only owned the car for 4k miles. Makes you wonder if some of the bearing wear would be related but I guess not since mains are usually good forever.
