Used VAC hub?

Opened the box on my VAC vanos hub and took it out of the bag and it looks strangely used. The tabs and splines look good though. Any thoughts if I should run with it or call and return it? I did buy it 8 months ago though just got around to it now unfortunately.

It looks new when looking at the driving tabs.

I would send it. Did you buy new or use? Are those marks scratches or just coating defects?

I bought mine used and had some marks like that but since the splines were fine and match the hub fine I sent it

I bought new. Some seem like coating defects, some scratches, none are cracks. I concur and I went ahead and installed it although you’d think the finishing would be better.
