    HVAC Stopped Working

A few months back, the A/C button on the HVAC unit would not stay on. Not really a big deal, since I only use it when I have to put the top up in the rain and I don't really drive in the rain. The unit itself turned off a few times or got stuck with the fan blowing (and drained the battery), but worked fine after battery was charged again. This week, the until turned off and will not turn back on at all. I checked several fuses and everything looked fine. I was going to try and disconnect the battery and see if that brings it back to life.

How can I tell if it is the control unit or something else? Would INPA be able to diagnose? I ran my Foxwell scanner, but there were no codes.

What are the troubleshooting steps I should be following?

    Thanks

If you have an earlier car with the old IHKA panel (fan speed and temp buttons are one button rather than two), they are known to go bad.

INPA might display an error code for the IHKA module, but I'm not sure which option it is under, maybe chassis.

One of the reasons i like to use BMW Scanner 1.4. It just scans all modules and shoots out a report.
OP you should be able to scan IHKA module in INPA. I use both INPA and BMW Scanner 1.4 for diagnostics.

I connected INPA but it could not read the IHKA module. I disconnected the battery and the display came back, but the fan is not activating regardless of setting.

I did not try INPA after reconnecting the battery, so that's my next step in the am.

"...got stuck with the fan blowing (and drained the battery)."

That part sounds like the FSU, but I don't know that it could be the cause of the other issues.

Finally had time to pull the code (attached). Doesn't make sense that transport mode would be turned on. Anyone have an idea how that could have been turned on and how can I turn it off?

Was able to delete transport mode using Foxwell scanner, but still have no idea how it got enabled.

Confirmed all HVAC functions working properly.
