Looking for any tips in regards to replacing the outer CV boots. I have done inners but not the outer boots that at first glance seem more difficult.
I have read a few DIY's and you must pry open the housing in such a way it can be re-installed while not damaging the things oring that seals it up.
Some have even resorted to epoxy in order to seal the now somewhat damaged housing.
ECS had a kit at one point, rather clever actually, it was the boots, clamps, grease, but more importantly the housings/orings. Their aftermarket housings used little set screws apparently.
Any tips would be appreciated as I can see the potential for damage that may lead to needing a different axle.
