Trade for different color - Please tell me your experiences

Hi all, this is my first post here, so I hope it's ok. I just wanted to send a message asking if anyone in the past has had any experience with trading their M3 for another M3 of the same, just for a different color? I have a Ti-ag M3, and I'd love to get one that's a different color eventually. Just curious if its even been done with just a trade or do people usually sell theirs and buy another?

I've had a TiAg since 2011. Over the years I've definitely tried to "trade" for a different color. Made an offer for a modded LSB but the owner didn't sell. Almost bought a Imola but was too slow to pull the trigger. Since then I've come to appreciate TiAg again and think it's an underrated color especially with Imola, Cinnamon, or any other individual interior. I ended up buying another TiAg and sold my previous car. It would be a lot more difficult to find a trade partner and you would be limited on your selection.
