    CMP Auto Engineer Unresponsive

Hello all. I am reaching out for a little guidance and to vent a little frustration.

After much research I determined that I would get with CMP for my chassis reinforcement needs as their kits seemed extremely well engineered, well reviewed, and well spoken of on both this forum and other online sources.

Order was placed for their stage 1 and 2 kits on Sept 10th and their site says they aim to dispatch within a day or two of order placement. Charge for the order cleared the credit card on the 12th.

Hadn't heard anything by the 16th so I sent an email to [email protected]. I was actually requesting to add an additional part to the order if it has not shipped.

Due to not receiving any reply from that email, I sent the same email to [email protected]. I then came across a post on this forum and someone who mentioned reaching out to the owner on Facebook, as well as Instagram. I have subsequently attempted contact via both platforms.

I definitely plan to give it some more time in the hopes that my order ships, as I really do believe in the product, based on what I've seen. Just feeling frustrated that I've had no update to my order, or reply for CMP after 9 day and multiple contact attempts. Although I do understand that most of this attempts where in the last couple of days.

I conclusion I guess I've turning to you all for a little reassurance that I'm not crazy in thinking I should have received something by this point. I do also know that things happen in people lives and CMP may very well be just a couple person operation.

I think it’s basically just a one man operation. 9 days, yea, that’s a bit much and you would hope to hear something by now. But maybe there’s something going on on his end.

CMP is awesome, just give them time. If it's not a one man operation, it's less than 5 for sure. I have the CMP front weld in beam and brace, and they went out of their way to get me instructions and go over anything I may run into or any nuances with the install. Very good customer service, I can only assume you're in a queue and there's people in front of you.

That, or you've now sent so many messages you pissed them off and they're purposely letting you stew

I ordered from them recently and received this message on the 10th:

"Sorry for not reaching out sooner. We've been swamped with orders after out latest re-stock of machining in addition to some installs & WTAC over the weekend.

I'm reaching out to advise you that your order has not been shipped. Due to a recent Presidential executive order, Australian businesses are unable to export anything to the USA right now.
From what I've gathered, your government has contracted a third party who is trying to develop a new system of managing imports and tariffs and are unable to receive any postal imports till it is in place.

The only bit of good news I have is that as of this morning we were notified that shipments can commence once again on the 25th of this month.

We understand this can be inconvenient to US customers. If you'd like to wait, we can dispatch on the 25th otherwise, we can cancel and refund your order immediately."

Thank you all for the reply and regarding the decree about exports, that's completely understandable. I'll happily wait my turn, given all the good things I've heard about the products.

Yeah im sure he will reach out to you. I was just speaking to him a few days back too.

This tariffs issue is major, i'll have to order a topside reinforcement kit and have it installed in Bahrain if i ever decide i want to move the car to the states in 2028.

I just wanted to update this post to say that the owner did reach out to me last night and assured me that my order would be shipped this week. he did also make me aware that there were some tariff issues as well.

Super please with how the situation worked out.

The thread title makes it sounds like you found the CMP engineer dead somewhere 🤣

I can confirm that Australia Post (AusPost) has only just resumed sending of parcels to the US, but will now require the sender to create an account with a third party and pay the tariff of 10% (and some other fees) prior to the parcel arriving in the US.

Read more about new US import tariff rules affecting parcels from Australia. View suspended services, exemptions and declaration requirements.

Please do us a favor and let us know how much UPS charges you for brokerage. The total amount delivered to your door vs. the original invoice you paid to CMP.

I’ve seen a lot of posts from people ordering car parts from Japan and being shocked by that part. And there isn’t a clear way to avoid it short of attempting to self-clear the shipment through customs, which is not easy to do from what I gather. Curious how it is with shipments from Europe and Australia.
