Sunroof perimeter gasket

The fuzzy, fabric like sunroof gasket (around the glass panel) has deteriorated and I want to replace it. The M4 has a rubber gasket and I would like to replace the same in the e46 M3. Can I get some advice here" Thanks.

If this is for avoiding water leaking then it’s not worth it, as the old damaged gasket is not the root cause.

It's pretty easy, getting the sunroof back in sitting flat was the hardest part, but still fairly easy.

I did have to cut the gasket to fit, maybe 1/8", it comes in one continuous piece, so if you need to cut it, measure twice.

I remember you saying this and am dumbfounded as to why this happened. I want to replace mine but have not because of your experience. Boggles me how it's too large.

It was odd that it didn't fit out of the box, that said I think the whole job took just over an hour, would have been half that if the seal fit.
It's really not too bad, even if it doesn't fit and needs trimming.
