Ignition Coil Head Broken Off

Was removing my ignition coils to get to my VANOS job. A couple cylinders were giving a lot of resistance. This one just separated entirely between the head/latch mechanism and the body of the coil.

Any suggestions on how to remove the remaining coil?

Self tapping screw in the middle and then pull it out ?
Clean the bore before removing the spark plug to not have any debris fall into the cylinder

Ended up getting it with some Lisle CV boot clamp pliers I had from the air intake clamps. Thanks for your help.
