    SS 2.5 inch exhaust system

Starting a fresh thread as im putting my together. If I have the SS 2.5 inch system to a 2.5 inch Scorza... but have the stock oem 2.25 inch oem gasket blocking inbetween the sections 1 & 2, wouldn't that create a bottleneck? If so, is there a 2.5 inch gasket everyone is using?

Also, if we have the option to use the stock 2.25 inch oem sec 2 with the 2.5 inch SSV1 and Sec 1, wouldn't that mean the end of the 2.5 inch sec 1 tapers down to 2.25 inches?

Is this not a true 2.5 inch system?

One of the pipes has no inner gasket, the other side has the ring that goes in between the sect 2 and the muffler pipe.

No, the SS sec1 does not taper down from 2.5"

If I can remember, I'll mic the inside of the sect 2 "triangle gasket" - I wouldn't be surprised if it's larger than 2.36m but should at least be 60mm.

Stock is 60mm fyi which is 2.36" not 2.25" Wall thickness is 1/16 so 2 x 1/16s = 1/8" an 1/8" jump from stock 60mm to 2.5" basically, not a quarter of an inch.

Also keep in mind exhaust diameter is OD. So your 2.5" pipes, whether aftermarket supersprint or stock bmw e9x midpipe, for example, gas is not flowing through 2.5", the ID is a 1/16" less on both sides so flowing through 2.362

Now, does a 1mm thick gasket with an ID of 2.25" within an exh pipe with an ID of 2.36" cause a bottleneck? I doubt it.

To even reach max flow for 2.5" system, don't you need like 500hp?
