Battery Light on mid-corner

    Hi all, so I put a new voltage regulator in cause the alternator they shipped me was seized. Now I have the opposite issue as before. It's not generating enough or any voltage. I'm going to double check all the connections tomorrow or friday but its just very weird. Could the old alternator be bad along with the voltage regulator? Any help is appreciated!

      99.9% a bad alternator would not output 17v.
      Did you take pics of the condition of the 2 slip rings where the brushes riding on?
      Double check the regulator nuts/screws for tightness, and the cable and connector connections.

      Also switch the meter to AC ~ mode to measure any AC voltage at the alternator big red cable terminal. High AC voltage means the alternator Diode set is damaged.

        I'll get some photos when I take it back apart, I'm going to double check everything and clean it all super well. I'm hoping its a simple fix.
