This will likely be a short-lived thread.
I replaced an igniter 2 years ago (the red part attached behind the bulb that has 2 wires going inside the headlight and a box fixed to the bottom), and the same headlight gave up the ghost again.
My igniter looks like this:
I had purchased the cheaper igniters and didn't realize that a bit of water was entering my headlight, so I'm unsure if the cheap igniter was trash or if the water caused it to break. I'm tempted to seal the headlight properly and try another cheap igniter, as the OEM one is $250, and I could probably find a good used headlight around this price or less.
What are experiences with igniters out there? Any brand to recommend?
Also, what is this thing that parts stores sell that doesn't look nothing like my igniter? Their compatibility dongle says it's compatible with my car.
Note: this is NOT the kind of igniter I have. I'm just curious, is this somehow compatible?
