Vanos codes 184 and 72 = solenoid pack replacement?

Some quick Google searches are pointing towards that direction.

I had no issues up until now, sold my CSL air box. Sold my HP DME with the CSL software, reinstalled a stock hp DME with stock software. Software

Now I'm getting consistent code 184 and 72 with a check engine light.

Even when I clear the codes I can tell it's very sluggish in the lower RPMs like it's down on power.

When I rebuilt the engine I did everything including the full vanos refresh except the solenoid pack haha. I did everything else from beisan though.

Trying to see if I need to to pull the solenoid off, cut it open and check for bad solder joints

Wondering what other people's experience with those two codes have been historically.

Yep, typically solenoid pack. You can always use the vanos test from tomba via tool32 to check out vanos performance.

I'm trying to do a vanos test using INPA but it seems like it's missing that and some other functions. I can connect to the car and get error codes and engine data like rpm, temperature, etc. but it doesn't appear to be fully functional. I've tried two different DCAN cables with the same results. I've reinstalled INPA several

Thanks man. Yeah I've ran that test before a couple times with no issues when I first put the motor together. I suppose I could run it again to compare results.
