No. The tab that holds the siphon jet tube fatigues over time and the jet pump becomes disconnected. Fuel is no longer sent from the drivers side to the passengers side of the tank and the pump is starved of fuel.Originally posted by sapote View Post
If it's the case, shouldn't OP have smelled raw gas as liquid fuel should leaking out?
This has nothing to do with fuel leaking out of the tank.

input from regulator return line
output line to the R tank
side-kick line to the L tank
So which line is disconnected?

“There is a small clip that holds the jet pump on the driver's side level sender that is plastic and can break over time. It can cause the siphon jet to fall off and not send fuel to the passenger side”
If this is the case for OP, then the left tank after filled up should always remain at 31 liters. But it’s 14 liters now and changing.
Op, fill tanks to full, and check if L tank going down then no hose fell off the L level sensor.
Btw, the said fell off hose is the side-kick port of the jet pump, not the jet pump itself fell off.Last edited by sapote; 11-27-2025, 09:15 AM.

It takes 15 minutes to visually check.Originally posted by sapote View Post“There is a small clip that holds the jet pump on the driver's side level sender that is plastic and can break over time. It can cause the siphon jet to fall off and not send fuel to the passenger side”

I bought a brand new fuel pump and installed 6 months ago. Is the jet pump a part of this assembly or was I supposed to connect something outside of the connection at the top that I already checked? Is this jet pump inside the tank, left or right?
I think this is a pic of the jet pump, it’s the long skinny tube, right? Does it connect at the black circle looking connection by the float?

The pump is behind the passenger seat. The issue is with the assembly behind the driver's seat. Pull it out and I'm pretty sure you'll find that long skinny tube not attached to the bottom of the blue plastic carrier.

Got got access to the driver side fuel tank last night. Stop before I opened it, my question is if the tab is broken, won’t I need a new fuel level center unit? Should I just go ahead and order that part and replaced since I replaced the passenger side fuel pump? Also need to order something from FCP, debating whether I should just bite the bullet and do that as a wear item.‘04 M3
