Wide Screen Sat Nav LCD panel replacement

I've replacement the LCD panel in my widescreen Sat Nav unit because of the dreaded dead pixels.

The image on the screen looks ok if i look at it straight on but if i view it from an angle it takes on a reddish hue.

Has anyone else had this?

Could it be missing a polarising layer?

Maybe you bought an x5 screen with different viewing angle. What’s the part number you bought? Is the screen shiny or matte?
