    s54 rebuild

Getting block bored to 87.25mm any recommended piston and connecting rods to run? I've seen mahle, Weisco, and Carrillo. Im not 100% sure what's the best quality between these brands or if there's another brand blowing these out the water.

Used CP Pistons (Carillo) and JE pistons. Both good quality

The Porsche guys go Mahle first. If Mahle doesn’t make the requisite size, then JE. There are a few others that are used in rare instances, but those two are the standard.

I run JEs in the 2.45L in my 71. Zero complaints or issues.

I would apply the above logic to the e46 without question.

I'm using the Carillo pistons for 87,25mm.

I ordered them through Achilles with the cross-forged option. It's the lightest available piston for the S54. They work perfect.

I'm running 12,5:1 compression ratio, if you want something different, let them know, they can customize.

I've ordered custom CP pistons with deeper valve releifes from Lang Racing Development. Great custom service.
