passenger tail light stays on

went to the car this morning to find, mysteriously, that the passenger side tail light was on. all other lights off. no key in the car. went and got the key, turned ignition on, back off. tail light still on.

wtf? I googled a bit and found threads where the tail lights were on *and* the cluster was on, but not like this where it's just the single tail light? any ideas?

There is some feature where if you leave the turn signal stalk in one direction, it will stay on as an indicator so people are less likely to hit you when parallel parked. Was that it?

Oh shit. Uhh yup, that was it. Weird, really didn't expect this to be a "feautre, not a bug" situation lol.

Its the Euro parking light feature enabled by the turn signal stalk. Thats done to ensure the car is seen when parked overnight.

You didn't hear the signal flasher clicking (the signal lever was turned to right) and the dash R arrow flahsing?

BTW, the front R corner light should also be ON too, not just the tail light.
