Need a new battery. What's everybody putting in their cars nowadays? Got quoted $355 from my local independent shop for an interstate battery.

No experience yet, but an Antigravity arrives tomorrow. Pricey at $800, but not bad for a 30 lb drop I think.

Diehard AGM here. Why are you going through a shop? Buy the battery and install. Last generation you could do with requiring registering the new battery.

Just got one for my E90M, $179.99 with a small core

For my E46 however, I run a lighter, smaller Bosch (CSL/mini) h5 iirc. You know, I bought that batter back in like 2015 or 16 and it still works perfectly! I don't even put it on the trickle hardly ever. And I dont' drive the car even that often.

Unfortunately Exide isn't what they used to be. I sell them at my shop and generally get 2-3 years out of their 2 year warranty line and 4-5 years out of their 4 year AGM line. Still not bad by today's standards but gone are the days of 7-10 years. Recently we've been selling a lot of Premix batteries with not a warranty yet!

Been having issues with the Costco Interstate batteries on multiple vehicles, e46/36 included…I've replaced two on my Landcruiser within a year, three on the BMW's within past 18 months and just replaced one on the Range Rover on Saturday…maybe user error, but I'm moving on to something else, especially with their new warranty. YMMV

i am on 5+ years on mine, customers need to look after them so no short trips and don't leave them sitting for extended periods and no auto stop start nonsense

No offense but that is retarded. I can get a 2lb battery that will start a car for $250. If you need it for a street car, just get a stock size battery or a mini battery. Sam's Club - $200. Done.
