Walmart, don't overthink it. Just get correct size and about right CCA it'll live. You do not need to pay a shop to replace a battery lol

My last Interstate battery lasted 13 years so that's good enough for me!
I keep it on the trickle charger when sitting for longer periods.

Dude I’ve spent over $65k (including car) in the last 3 months, and I am not done. You very heavily underestimate how retarded I am. I don’t need to compromise for 600 bucks. This one was a no brainer for me.

You forget that you are addressing race car drivers.

Talk about a non sequitur. Go figure, batteries are a touchy subject haha.

Antigravity battery here…a bit costly but lightweight and nice features.

Thought this was for a street car. But an $800 battery that still weighs 30 lbs? I don't understand that. Might as well stick a red top optima in if retaining a heavy battery.

For NASA...and I think most others - a lithium ion battery does complicate things with rules. There are many reliable lithium iron batteries which are not subject to those rules which are maybe 4lb to 5lb at most.

I have AGM battery from O'Reilly's (Super Start Platinum) in my Non-M for probably 10 years, bought the same battery for my M3 no issues so far.

Since im in a well crusty mood after being ripped off.......

Not paying $1-1.2k for a battery! an AGM Battery for the M3 in stock or CSL size is like $120 bucks here and it'll last me 2-3 years in this weather. PERFECT.

                            I misread that, my apologies.

Still, $800 for a 14.5lb battery considering where battery tech is nowadays? IMO, still in the ridonkulous range for the poor people like me.

No worries! Different strokes, I get it.

Not to sound pretentious, but guys like Bimma, and Projecte46m3 have well over 50K in mods on their cars, probably closer to six figures.

Dropping in an $800 battery is nothing, especially when it will last 4-5 times as long as a normal battery, doesn't need to be trickle charged, weighs 1/4 of the LBs, and has 3X the CCA.

                                It's kindof a no-brainer.

There's starting to be two pretty distinct types of builds on here... the "How can I get this done for the least amount of money" type of guys... and the "Money is no object I'm building my dream car" guys.

It's fine if you fall into the first category. There's no "right way" to build a car.

FWIW I'm sponsored by Antigravity, so not all of us spent what you think we did.
