Dropping in an $800 battery is nothing, especially when it will last 4-5 times as long as a normal battery, doesn't need to be trickle charged, weighs 1/4 of the LBs, and has 3X the CCA.

    It's kindof a no-brainer.

There's starting to be two pretty distinct types of builds on here... the "How can I get this done for the least amount of money" type of guys... and the "Money is no object I'm building my dream car" guys.

It's fine if you fall into the first category. There's no "right way" to build a car.

FWIW I'm sponsored by Antigravity, so not all of us spent what you think we did.

    I know...but the question was:

]Need a new battery. What's everybody putting in their cars nowadays? Got quoted $355 from my local independent shop for an interstate battery.
I think it is a valid assumption that if the OP got quoted $355 for a battery, the OP is here asking for alternatives that are less than $355. Giving him an $800 alternative really doesn't make sense.

Doesn't sound like the OP is spending $50k on mods.

Well to be fair, the question was "What's everybody putting in their cars nowadays?" Your assumption is most likely correct, but who knows, maybe the OP wants an expensive battery and doesn't know it yet. haha. Plenty of people said "Antigravity," I am the only one that gave an extra datapoint or two.

If the question is vague I'm always going to throw out the cheap option. Why? If you're looking for expensive I feel like most will say that upfront (as in what lightweight battery is everyone running? cause that means expensive). I mean $355 for an interstate battery? Costco sells an H7 Interstate AGM for $180. Lead Acid is $125. Walmart lead acid is $160.

Appreciate all the replies and lively discussions as always. I'll definitely go to Costco this weekend and price one out as well.

Not sure the future of the car so as great as the antigravity batteries sound, I was looking for something a little more budget friendly.
