    Thoughts on Eisenmann Sport Muffler

My M3 has an old Borla muffler installed back in the late 00s that I am looking to replace. The current set up on my M3 is an Eventuri intake, Fabspeed headers, factory section 1 (cat-less), factory section 2 resonated to the borla mufflers.

I am between trying to source a clean factory muffler and going with the Eisenmann sport route for a bit more volume over factory mufflers but toned down compared to the Borlas. I understand that there is a large price difference between these two routes but was curious to hear about the Eisenmann sport mufflers and if they are worth it. I think that the race versions would yield a sound a bit too loud for my taste with the other current exhaust mods.

Eisenmann is fantastic go for it.

Supersprint sport is a good option to the Eisenmann sport as well. Something to consider

Meistershaft and Eisenmann sound better than Supersprint Sport IMO

If you plan on staying catless and are worried about loudness, I would also consider the Supersprint resonated section two.
My DB level dropped by 4 compared to the OE section 2.
That will open up more possibilities for the muffler.

I had an Eisenmann Race, it had a minor amount of drone but sounded good. Miss that tone.
Replaced with a Supersprint Sport which also droned with the resonated midpipe & race cats but i'd say they are similar as far as volume.
Eisenmann Sport will be closer to Supersprint Street - some might say they are too quiet to be worth it vs. stock muffler, which is on my car at the moment.

Funny enough I used to have the Borla you have with an otherwise stock exhaust on my first E46 and that is still one of my favorite sounding S54's. Maybe tone the setup down upstream first? Granted those are very similar in design/layout to Supersprint Race so they may be borderline intolerable as we age lol.

Thanks everyone who responded for your input.

I’m looking to smooth out the midrange rasp without spending a fortune. Is there a way to dial down the rasp (I still enjoy a balanced amount of it)? I know that adding a catted section 1 and/or aftermarket resonated section 2 will do this but ideally I would like to keep it cat-less for now as I live in a state where the M3 is old enough to not require an emissions check.

Example of what my car currently sounds like. It sounds glorious above 4500-5k RPMs but quite a bit of mid range rasp between 2500-4000.

This will remove 80 to 90% of the rasp and its what I run. https://www.rogueengineering.com/Rog...r-30_p_86.html
