What's everybody running for their Section 3? Torn apart right now between RE El Diablo, Eisenmann, Sunbeam, Supersprint Sport,
Literally every option out there lmao.
Current (to be) setup is:
Megan Headers
Sunbeam Resonated Sec 1
OEM Sec 2
OEM Sec 3

Really you have to decide which camp you're in, either rasp is good or rasp is bad. I'm a rasp is bad person, in which case resonators, mufflers, and a carbon airbox are you're friend.

Really you have to decide which camp you're in, either rasp is good or rasp is bad. I'm a rasp is bad person, in which case resonators, mufflers, and a carbon airbox are you're friend.

Def a no rasp guy, hence the resonated Sunbeam sec 1 rasp killer.

from your initial post I don't think you have the sunbeam yet?

The sound clip posted on some other sunbeam thread is awful, but I don't remember what the setup was. It's worth checking out before you buy anything.

I've always wondered why all the S54 swapped cars sound great, but the E46 sounds awful stock. I'm starting to think it's because the swapped cars generally run a single pipe exhaust like the bimmerworld setup. Something about merging the exhaust pulses might cancel out some bad frequencies? I think you can go find some clips of the bimmerworld resonated exhaust that sound pretty good on the e46. I also think my setup with the CPI rasp terminator, SS single resonated sect 2, and ss sport sounds good, which is consistent with my theory.

I would also keep your cats somewhere in the system if you want to be rid of rasp.

Sunbeam is on the way, already ordered. The clip you’re talking about is probably the LSB one, funnily enough is my friend. Sounded great in person when he was running an El Diablo and got louder with the Sunbeam section 3.

I have a CSL box already, I’m just thinking to go with a El Diablo currently but am so open to other options. The rest of the setup is pretty unchangeable. Sunbeam sec 1 genuinely does eliminate rasp super well and sounds great I promise you.

Do not run the el Diablo unless you like losing HP. Get the caliente.

Had an El Diablo for a while and it was the best sounding e46 m3 I have personally ever heard (euro headers, fabspeed catted section 1, SGT resonated SGT section 2/SS clone). Sadly it droned like mad right at 3k. Went Karb CSL and switched to SS sport. Perfect to my ears
