    E46 ticking

Hi everyone, I just did a head job. I replaced my head because I screwed up the tensioner threads on my old one. I received the Head but the cams And the rockers were from different cars I did multiple Valve adjustment, but it still has a slight faint tick! Is it going to go away after I put some good miles on it or will it only get worse?

Cams and rockers wear together. If you still have your original cams with the original rockers and you kept everything in order, you'll probably have to swap them back in. Unfortunately, getting the rocker shafts out with the head installed requires removing the front end.

My original rocker and camshaft are worn down and have some of the rockers are flatten out. I feel like the noise is because it’s not a set I just hope it does not get worse eventually I’ll get new ones with upgraded cam! If the clearance is are said it shouldn’t technically get worse huh?

I was always under the impression a faint tick was considered to be normal.
